We love Sintra, here our heart beats a bit faster. The beauty of its landscapes and the astonishing monuments are the highlights of this tour, but don't you miss the small things: the fountains on the side of the road, the exuberant vegetation, the narrow streets, the view over the Atlantik and the breathtaking coastline of Sintra.
Get to know the history and culture of this wonderful enchanted region and be embraced by its astonishing beauty. We will visit amazing viewpoints with beautiful monuments and some breathtaking views over the coastline and the Atlantik Ocean. From the monumental sights, we will drive through the rural area until the amazing beaches of Azenhas do Mar, Praia das Maçãs, Praia Pequena, Praia Grande, and Adraga. Then we will find our way until the most western point of continental Europe: the Roca Cape, with its amazing views. From here we can drive back to Sintra through the enchanted forest or drive along the coastline, passing Guincho beach and the Boca do Inferno until we reach Cascais, a cute beach town with a nice atmosphere.
This is a personalized tour where you can decide which monuments and places to visit within the time and the available options. You can visit only Sintra so to see most of it and visit two monuments or we can drive until Cascais, visiting only one monument in Sintra. You can choose from: Pena Palace and Park*; Moorish Castle*; Convento dos Capuchos; Palácio de Queluz; Quinta da Regaleira; National Sintra Palace and the historical center of Sintra; Monserrate Palace and Park. Regardless of what you choose, we will always have a glimpse over the monuments from the outside (if the weather allows).
For lunch, we can take you to a nice traditional restaurant for a proper meal outside the tourist area of Sintra or you can lunch in the center or bring your own snacks.
Additional Notes
Please be aware that Sintra has a microclimate and will always be cooler than Lisbon, be sure to bring appropriate clothing.
* The visit of Pena Palace and Park and the Moorish Castle is not always possible due to access restrictions.
Please be advised that in the high season many monuments, especially the Pena Palace, may have very long lines making it difficult to visit the interior and even to get there due to the traffic jam. We will try to avoid these waiting times visiting alternative places or changing the tour a little. Please let us know what you aim to visit and we will do our best to make it happen.
